There are four films in total covering wedding planning, entertainment, food and venues.

Several thousand miles separated Cleese from the Black and White Lemur Zoofari Ball where the campaign was launched this Christmas, so we were asked to film the video message below to help the fundraising efforts.

We must have got something right as a staggering $500,00AUD was raised on the night.

We’ve just employed our first full-time motion graphics animator with a view to setting up a new department. He’s just finished work on our logo and is already developing exciting material for some of our clients.

Our editing department, Last Wort Post, has also grown, enabling us to enhance even further the quality of our post-production work. In fact, we’re convinced that this emphasis on quality has been the key to our success over the past 12 months. Bookings for The Filming Business have doubled this year and January already looks like being a record month.

With our team growing in strength and number, we have been able to expand the business, moving into new areas and developing innovative techniques that we hope will be of real value to our clients.

Obviously we can’t say anymore at this stage as it’s all still a little hush hush, but we’re really excited to have been asked.  Disney loved the work we’ve been doing with ESPN and London Irish and asked to see what we could come up with for its Junior audience.

As and when we get to the next stage and we can enlighten you further, we will. In the meantime, it’s another really exciting project for us and one that’s developing The Last Word in new directions. All good stuff!

It turns out Cleese is a serious Lemur fan and has been since the age of 12 – he even has a particular species of lemur named after him! According to Cleese, lemurs are “gentle, well mannered and pretty, yet great fun … I should have married one”.

We admit that this love of lemurs had passed us by, but that didn’t stop us. The interview went brilliantly well and we’ll post the footage as soon as we can.  We now know a lot more about these cute inhabitants of Madagascar and wish the Zoo every success with its fundraising and conservation. They’ve kindly given us some free tickets, so if we ever get a job in Sydney ….any briefs out there?… we’ll be straight round to the lemur enclosure.

We’re hoping to see a whole host of you at Londonlaunch:live on the 19th and 20th October where, once again, we’ll be producing the official corporate video of the event.

This year, the organisers have added an Olympic Games gallery full of Games related events and hospitality ideas, not to mention Gold Medal winning athletes and, if the thought of all that sport makes you hungry, there’s even an Olympian buffet!

Not least because we’ve been doing something a little different.  Sometime ago, we created a DVD for Wandsworth Primacy Care Trust, to help their patients with clinical depression. It was designed to helping sufferers understand the condition and provide advice on managing medication, as well as giving exercises and techniques to help patients deal with their symptoms.  Not only was the Trust delighted with our work it proved to be extremely successful.  As a result, we’ve spent much of the summer translating it into six different languages including Urdu, Tamil, Somali, Polish and Bengali, using foreign language voiceovers as well as subtitles.  This process is nearing completion and demonstrates our ability to develop truly international corporate video material.

Talking of our international work, we should confess that we haven’t just been dodging showers in Battersea.  Our globe-trotting members of staff have been lucky enough to work in France, Italy, Turkey and Qatar over the past few months. Our Qatar project is still top secret, but it’s really exciting, so as soon as we’re able to tell you what our crew has been up to in 50 degree heat, we will.

We’ve also been on the road in the UK, filming around the country for Housing Association providers, Circle. This is our second project for the company and it’s always good to get more work because someone likes what we do.  This time we’ve produced a film on financial inclusion, designed to give practical advice about opening bank accounts and managing money to Circle Housing Association residents.

We’re in the process of editing a show reel of some of our highlights, which we’ll post very soon – in the meantime, we’re looking forward to an equally hectic Autumn!

During the five week construction and deconstruction phase, we filmed the whole process in a time-lapse recording at the Chelsea Old Hospital Grounds, where the fair was held.

During this time an estimated £1/2bn worth of antiques, paintings, jewellery, sculpture and exclusive cars were brought in and out. And we were on hand to film it all.

Not only are the exhibits from the very best that the art and luxury goods world has to offer, the fair is visited by the very rich and the very famous.  Our footage for Masterpiece includes shots of Theo Fennell, Elton John and Tim Jeffries, to name but a few.

We made six short films in total, giving Masterpiece material that they can now use as vodcasts to promote the 2012 fair to prospective exhibitors. The fair really is the Last Word in luxury … we’d like to think that’s why we were asked to play our part!

So needless to say, we were more than a little chuffed when the club asked us to produce weekly video footage for their website. Over the course of this season we’ll be interviewing players, producing highlights from some of the key games and taking a look behind the scenes at the staff that make it all possible. The first three week’s footage is already on the London Irish site.

Our teccy guys have also had a field day. They have worked with the club to build a London Irish i-phone App where you can see more of our video material. The App is available at the App Store, so if you’re a London Irish fan, make sure you check it out.

We’re proud of the work we did creating the App – it’s another string to our bow and one that we’re sure more clients will want to use as they harness all that technology out there.

And finally, the more commercially minded out there might like to know that we even succeeded in finding the club an additional sponsor – Trend Micro – as part of our endeavours with Sky Sports. This partnership is now in its second year. It really can pay to have The Last Word!
